The Chemdefend 100 is a lightweight disposable coverall constructed from advanced SMMS (spunbond–meltblown–meltblown–spunbond) non-woven polypropylene fabric weighing 45 gsm. Two layers of meltblown barrier film are sandwiched between structural spunbonded outer layers, delivering excellent breathability and effective protection against particulate hazards. The material is soft with good drape, and the garment is cut for optimum body fit with generous fabric in the underarms, chest and waist for comfortable, unrestricted movement.
The coverall features a 3-piece hood, attached thumb loops, elasticated wrists, waist and ankles, and a 2-way front zipper with a re-sealable storm flap. Seams are stitched for high particle barrier performance. The design assists in maximising protection, comfort and strength while easing the donning and doffing process.
The Chemdefend 100 complies with EN ISO 13982-1:2004+A1:2010 (Type 5) for protection against airborne solid particles, EN 13034:2005+A1:2009 (Type 6) for limited protection against light liquid sprays, and EN 1073-2:2003 for protection against radioactive particulate contamination. It also meets the requirements of the French Assurance Maladie/INRS document on asbestos fibre protection for Type 5 single-use garments. The fabric physical performance is tested in accordance with EN 14325:2004.
