EN/ISO standards & certifications

All our products carry the CE mark and meet applicable European safety standards. This guide explains the most important standards to help you choose the right protection.

What does the CE mark guarantee?  —  The product has been tested and certified by a notified body in accordance with the European PPE Regulation (2016/425). The manufacturer confirms the product meets essential health and safety requirements.

EN ISO 20345
Safety footwear

Classes S1–S3 (dry) and S4–S5 (waterproof). S3 is the most used class in industry and construction.

EN 388
Gloves — mechanical risks

Rates abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance. Higher letter/number = better protection.

EN 374
Gloves — chemical protection

Rates glove material resistance to liquids, micro-organisms and hazardous substances. Class A to C by penetration resistance.

EN 166 / EN 168
Eye protection

EN 166 sets basic requirements for eye protection. Lenses and frames are classified by optical quality and protection level.

EN 397
Industrial helmets

Required for helmets used where there is risk of falling objects and lateral deformation.

EN 149 (FFP)
Disposable masks

FFP1: filters 80% of particles. FFP2: 94% (recommended for fine dust, viruses). FFP3: 99% (highest protection, hazardous particles, asbestos).

EN 361 / EN 363
Fall arrest harnesses

EN 361 covers single harnesses. EN 363 covers full fall arrest systems including lanyards and connectors.

EN ISO 20471
High-visibility clothing

Class 1 (minimum visible surface) to class 3 (maximum visibility). Classes 2 and 3 required on most Belgian construction sites.

Thermal protection — clothing

Protection against heat and flames. Classes A (flame spread), B (convective heat), C (radiant heat) and D–F for molten aluminium/iron.
