3M Peltor HRXD7A-01 Radio DAB+ FM Headset

The 3M Peltor HRXD7A-01 is a headband-style hearing protection headset with a built-in DAB+ and FM radio receiver. It is designed for use in noisy industrial environments such as construction, manufacturing, agriculture, and landscaping, allowing workers to listen to digital or analogue radio while maintaining hearing protection.

Key features include digital station search, voice-guided menu navigation, and the ability to store up to 10 DAB+ and 5 FM stations as favourites. A 3.5 mm listen-only stereo audio input allows connection to external devices such as mobile phones or two-way radios, limited to 82 dB. The headset automatically powers off after four hours of inactivity to conserve battery life and provides a low-battery voice alert. It runs on two included AA alkaline batteries (or optionally the ACK03 rechargeable battery pack), offering approximately 23 hours of use in DAB mode and 31 hours in FM mode.

The HRXD7A-01 is tested and approved in accordance with EN 352-1:2020 (headband type), with an SNR of 31 dB (H=31 dB, M=30 dB, L=22 dB). It also complies with EN 352-8:2008 for the radio functionality. The product meets the requirements of EU Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU and carries CE marking. The notified body involved in the assessment is FIOH (Finnish Institute of Occupational Health), notified body number #0403. The headset weighs 341 g including batteries and is constructed with a stainless-steel reinforced headband, ABS shells, PVC/PU foam ear cushions, and PUR foam inserts. Replaceable hygiene kits (HY82) are available to maintain consistent attenuation, hygiene, and wearing comfort.
