The 3M™ PELTOR™ Optime™ III earmuff is designed for use in extremely noisy environments such as airports, power plants, engine rooms and print works, offering sound attenuation of up to 34 dB (SNR). The dual-shell construction minimises resonance, providing improved damping especially at higher frequencies.
The large cup space reduces heat and moisture build-up, while the soft, wide foam cushions distribute low contact pressure around the ears for comfortable extended wear. The stainless-steel headband design helps maintain consistent pressure during use. Cushions and inserts are available as replaceable hygiene sets to extend product life.
The headband version (model H540A) weighs approximately 285 g. Cups are made of ABS with polyether foam liners and PU foam/PVC cushion covers. The product is type-approved under EU Regulation 2016/425 and complies with EN 352-1:2002 (and EN 352:2020). It is also available in a Hi-Viz green colour for enhanced visibility in high-risk work areas.
