The Climax Makalu is an ultralight climbing helmet weighing just 224 g, built using In-mould technology that combines an EPS shell with a polycarbonate sheet for durability and versatility. Strategically placed ventilation openings generate airflow to keep the user comfortable during use.
The helmet features a breathable, removable and washable inner padding that is soft on the front and upper areas for added comfort. Three headlamp clips — two at the front and one at the rear — allow easy attachment of a headlamp. The rear ratchet fastening system enables gradual adjustment to fit different head sizes, and the chinstrap attachment can be opened comfortably with one hand.
The Makalu is tested for use at temperatures between -30°C and +50°C. It is certified to EN 12492:2012 and meets the impact protection and puncture resistance requirements of EN 397:2012+A1:2012, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
