The Climax Shock Absorber 50 is an energy absorber designed to be used together with a safety harness as part of a fall arrest system. It is intended for protection when installing scaffolding and enables the user to be secured directly to the structure without the need for a separate lanyard, as the securing strap is integrated into the unit.
The unit includes a tear-webbing energy absorber, a 40 mm nominal width tubular woven synthetic fibre securing strap with an internal elastic to prevent unwanted elongation, one model 32 steel directional connector with automatic threaded locking (18 mm opening, MBL 23 kN), and one model 31 steel directional connector with automatic locking for large-diameter structures (51 mm opening, MBL 23 kN). The total length of the equipment is 1.50 m and it weighs 1.110 kg.
The shock absorber is certified to EN 355:2002 and complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/425, with CE certification issued by control body No. 1019. The theoretical service life is 15 years from the date of manufacture for equipment with textile or plastic components.
