The Climax 420 is an electronic auto-darkening welding helmet designed for all common welding processes starting from 5 A, including MIG/MAG, TIG/WIG, plasma-jet cutting and plasma welding, but excluding laser and gas welding. It is especially recommended for TIG welding thanks to a dedicated sensor for this process.
The helmet shell is made of polyamide and measures 325 x 235 mm. The auto-darkening filter switches from a light state (shade 4) to a variable dark shade adjustable from 9 to 13. The filter offers a field of vision of 100 x 41 mm, a response time of 0.4 ms, and a clearing time of 0.1–1 s. It is powered by solar cells and batteries, with automatic on/off operation. The headgear features an adjustable contour strap with comfort cushions and a cross strap with seven adjustment positions, fitting head sizes 56–64 cm. The total weight is 528 g.
The Climax 420 complies with EU Regulation 2016/425 and is certified to EN 175:1997 and EN 379:2003+A1:2009.
