The 3M Peltor X4A is a lightweight earmuff designed for hearing protection against medium to high noise levels. With an SNR of 33 dB, it delivers strong attenuation — particularly effective against low-frequency noise — thanks to its innovative sealing ring and foam cushion technology. The cups are made from rigid ABS plastic with a TPU outer shell for impact and abrasion resistance.
The double headband features a stainless steel wire core coated in non-conductive material, providing electrical insulation up to 1.2 kV (tested per EN 397:2012 under dry conditions). This makes the headband version suitable for environments with electrical spark or charge hazards. The wide, soft foam cushions reduce pressure on the ears and improve comfort during extended wear, while the large internal cup space minimises heat and moisture buildup.
The X4A is type-approved under EU Regulation 2016/425 by FIOH (Notified Body 0403) and complies with EN 352-1:2002. It weighs 234 g and is finished in hi-viz green for easy identification of the protection level within the X-series range. Replaceable cushions and inserts are available as hygiene kits to extend product life.
